The university IPR Cell will be responsible for management of IP. The IPR cell envisions promoting academic freedom and safeguarding the interests of inventor in creation and commercialization of intellectual property with legal support, wherever necessary.
It also envisions creating an environment for acquiring new knowledge through innovation, developing an attitude of prudent IP management practices and promoting an IPR culture compatible with the educational mission of the University.
The IPR Cell will function with the prime focus of enabling students, researchers and professors to identify generate and protect their intellectual property through filing procedures for rights like patents, copyrights, trademarks, designs, etc.
The IPR Cell will also cater to commercialization of intellectual property, which will further foster the creation of a fruitful dynamic system between universities, investors and industries. Along with this, the IPR Cell will ensure seamless and ceaseless knowledge transfer amongst students and faculties through it IPR Policy.
- To establish an evolving framework where creativity and innovation are stimulated by Intellectual Property for the benefit of all
- To develop the environment of freedom for research & development, the discovery of new knowledge & innovation.
- To set up and maintain the services for researchers, faculty members and students for effective commercial utilization of intellectual property generated at University in the interests of all concerned and to oversee the fair distribution of the returns of patent in accordance with the policy and its amendments.
- To promote safeguarding of the intellectual property interests of all those who are involved in the creation of intellectual property at the University.
- To make policy document available to conduct the dissemination of the University’s IP for commercial use, so that public can be benefited at large while safeguarding the interests of the innovators/applicants of IP, and to generates revenue for the University and the innovators.
- To provide legal support to the University, deems necessary to defend and protect the interests of the University and innovators of intellectual property against unauthorized use of such property.
IPR Policy was drafted by IPR Cell soon after establishment of IPR Cell. Many workshop were organized from year 2018 to till date few of the recent workshops are highlighted below,
- First workshop was organized under the able guidance of our VC, Prof. Ashu Rani, on Friday 17 February 2023 from 12.30pm in which Ms. Swati Varshney, Patent Agent, Trademark Attorney, 1STOP IP Solutions, Faridabad she gave her lectures on Patent and copyrights in which described the practical aspect how to file the Patent and copyrights. Another speaker Mr. Anuj Ashok, Company Secretary, Anuj Ashok & Associates, Agra who presented his lectures on IPR, Patent, Copyrights and Design Acts, he describe the difficulties encountered during filing the IPR. His approach was practical’s and informative. Nearly 100 participants were took benefit of this workshop.
- Second workshop was organized on 26th April from 12.30pm in the Department of Chemistry under the leadership of our VC, Prof. Ashu Rani in which Dr. Indranil Saha, Patent Agent and IPR Lawyer, Associate Prof., Dy director-IPT, GLA University, Mathura. This workshop was held to celebrate the World Intellectual Property Day. Dr. Saha gave information regarding the various part of IPR and the role of women in IPR. He also provided the solution generally encountered during filing the patent and other IPR. Nearly 100 participants were present in the workshop.
- Third workshop, CST-UP sponsored National workshop on IPR was organized on 17th February 2024 from 10.00am onwards in the J.P.Sabhaghar, Khandari, Agra in collaboration with Department of Chemistry. Total five speakers delivered their talk on IPR. The Chief Guest of this workshop was Dr. A.M. Khan, Director, National Jalma Institute, Agra. This workshop was conducted under the leadership of VC, Prof. Ashu Rani. Total participant were 255.
- University has filled many Patent after the establishment of IPR Cell.
