About Department

Department of Law, at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra is dedicated to providing comprehensive legal education. Department of Law has also been recognised as a praiseworthy department. The Department of Law offers a diverse range of programs such as LL.M., LL.M.(H.R.), B.A.LL.B (05 years), LL.B. (03 years), and PG Diplomas.

The Department of Law, Centre For Post Graduate Legal Studies offers LL.M., LL.M.(H.R.) and PG Diplomas. The LL.M. under post graduate program offers four specialisations- Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights Law and Environmental Law. And the LL.M. (H.R.) under the post graduate program offers four specialisation in Human Rights and Duties.

The LL.M. program is designed to inculcate research skills and analytical abilities in students. In addition to classroom training imparted through innovative teaching methods, the LL.M. program is focused on self-learning and research is conducted by students under the guidance of the esteemed faculty members.

The Department of Law, Centre For Legal Education, offers LL.B (Three Years) and B.A.LL.B.(Five Years) programmes. These under-graduate programmes are run by the Department of Law with the objective to provide world class education in the field of law and arts. Customized efforts are directed to bridge the gap between subjects in theory and in practice. As part of the Bachelor of Arts, B.A.LL.B.  course, students are taught Arts subjects such as Principles and Practice Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, etc. Our aim is to equip students to participate in providing good governance within democratic tradition and outshine the competition in their pursuits.

LL.M. under the post graduate program offers four specialisations- Criminal Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights Law and Environmental Law. A vibrant learning environment is fostered through the operation of the Moot Court Society, Alternate Dispute Resolution Club, Debate Club and the Legal Aid Clinic which provides students with opportunities to engage in various facets of legal practice and contribute meaningfully to the community.

LIBRARY

The library of the Department of Law was established in the session 2001-02. It has over 2000 books and a large number of law reports, journals and magazines. The library caters to the needs of students and researchers engaged in legal studies. The Department is wi-fi enabled and a number of online and offline databases are subscribed by the University in various subjects.

LEGAL AID CLINIC

The Department has a Legal Aid Clinic to provide legal services to needy people and to the deprived sections of the society. These extension programmes are an integral part of the academic programmes of the Department. Due importance is given to the Legal aid clinic and students are encouraged to participate in it.
