About Department
The Department of Agriculture Sciences established in the academic year 2024-25 at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Campus, Chhalesar, Agra (U.P.). The aims of department is to advance agricultural education, research, and innovation. As part of one of India’s oldest universities, the department seeks to bridge the gap between traditional agricultural practices and modern technological advancements. The primary goal is to equipstudents with scientific knowledge and practical skills to enhance agricultural productivity, sustainability and rural development. The department envisions becoming a center of excellence in agricultural education by fostering interdisciplinary research, innovation, and the application of cutting-edge technologies such as precision farming, biotechnology and climate-resilient agriculture.
The vision of the department aligns with the national objective of ensuring food security and sustainable farming systems. Through collaborations with research institutions, agribusiness industries, and government bodies, the department aims to develop solutions for challenges such as soil degradation, water scarcity and climate change. Emphasis will also be placed on promoting organic farming, livestock production, integrated pest and disease management and resource-efficient farming techniques.
